The International Day of Science for Peace and Development has been celebrated worldwide under the auspices of UNESCO Since November 10, 2001. On this occasion, an event was organized by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia and the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia. During the event, Dr. Nina Chanishvili, Head of the Microbial Biotechnology Laboratory , was awarded the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation Prize for “Outstanding Contribution and Exceptional Achievements in Science.”
